Michael's Meanderings...
"The Plantation: Leesburg, Florida"
Sunday, December 7, 2008
What a weekend. Six shows at five different venues in three days! If only there was a way to get two vans and trailers full of people and sound equipment to our destination more quickly... sadly, our research on teleportation remains inconclusive. Today we did an afternoon and an evening performance at The Plantation in Leesburg. The concert hall is an old Southern style Mansion or Plantation. The building itself is gorgeous but the scenery surrounding it is even more breathtaking. We were pressed for time with two shows but we did manage to snap a few photos before dark. The weather was much cooler today which I always thoroughly enjoy. I have a hard time feeling Christmassy when it's 85 degrees outside. I'm not saying I'd prefer 4 feet of snow, but I'm not- not saying it either. I love cold weather and I actually saw snow falling for the first time while we were in Virginia, taping some songs for Pat Robertson on The 700 Club in late November. We were all running around in the parking lot of our hotel at 7 in the morning, sticking our tongues out to catch snowflakes and probably looking pretty stupid to the locals, but who cares, right? :)
Anyway, we were very glad to be back at The Plantation and looking forward to singing there again in the future. See you next time. Stay happy and healthy
Michael
