After singing at the Moore School, we drove back to our home in Sarasota to get ready for our concert that evening. In an interesting coincidence, our concert that night was within walking distance of the Moore School. Tonight, we sang in two guest appearances with our friends, The Magic of Manatee. They are a Sweet Adeline (all female) chorus that we have been involved with for years and years. They helped David and I attend Manatee Community College with their generous scholarship program, and have featured My Three Sons on their annual spring show several times. It may sound repetitive to say, but the decorations on stage were beautiful once again. We are blessed to see some of the most beautiful places all over the state when they are spectacularly decorated for Christmas. The Magic of Manatee are always very polished in their performances and dressed to the nines of course. They sing beautifully and their choreography plans make them a wonderful treat to watch and listen to.
We debuted a new song at this concert that is very different for us. The song is Silver Bells, but the arrangement is very... progressive :) I sing the melody on the song, and it features a lot of ornamentations and "pop" styling, and David does vocal percussion for the duration of the song. Basically, he turns into a portable drum set. Anyway, it's pretty cool and has been getting great reactions so it appears to be a keeper. We were very glad to see two of our MCC teachers- Melodie Dickerson and Rex Willis in attendance as well. They had never seen us in concert and we were honored to have them there. The concert was fantastic and to top it all off, we went to Outback Steakhouse afterwards and had an enormous feast. I think their Cheese Fries and Alice Springs Chicken Quesadillas should have their own spot atop the food pyramid. I could eat nothing but those quesadillas for the rest of my life and die a full and satisfied man. You must try them if you haven't already. I guess that's it for now... boy, am I hungry :) Stay happy and healthy
Michael
